Really, I'm against the overall increasingly PC nature of the console space in general, which is what MS is pushing for (and really, the entire video game playing sphere lets be real here).

Why would I, a person who is currently playing on a big, 60hz TV from a distance with a controller, want to be playing Halo multiplayer against people sitting right in front of high refresh monitors sitting at desks? Like, why would I want this? If I wanted to be in that pool of players, I'd straight up play on PC. Then, mainly just super high frames on high quality monitors is surely a big advantage, let alone the general difference in average personal setups with the difference between consoles/PC's.

But I don't want to do that, I want to play it on Xbox against Xbox controller players.īasically, it's either, don't give a fuck about player parity in the game, or if it's such a big thing, then invest in a good performance PC and go all in.Įssentially, why would anyone who cares about relative equitability in player hardware setups play in a space where they will be, by default, in a more limited structure. That if I wanted to have way more control/personal advantage of others on my end, I'd build a kitted PC and play it on there. Sure, nowadays there's plenty of variables that console players can alter that can give them an edge over other console players, namely more modern monitors/tv sets that have faster refresh rates, controllers with paddles (and now M&KB apparently), and good headphones/soundsystems, but it's not to the extent as the PC space where there's a myriad of things that can significantly deviate one person's experience with the game from one player to another.
It's just that if I'm playing a competitive multiplayer game, I prefer to play it within a more controlled environment rather than one where the end-user has much more flexibility to control their and others experience with the game.
